Green is an interesting color. It’s the color of the raging sea, the sweeping hills, the forests and the meadows, jealousy and dollar bills. It’s the color of grapes, snakes and four-leaf clovers. It’s also the signal to go ahead – to keep driving, keep trying, keep living.

All of the above makes green Ms Green’s favorite color. So when others go on and on about their need for yet more coffee, she takes a different route. She orders a cup of green tea with lively hints of mango and sea buckthorn for even more kick. She likes to keep on moving.

Charlie & Chloe like to collect things. Things like tattoos, cloud shapes, dog names, quotes, long breakfasts and lazy afternoons. Charlie is into strolls and sunbathing. Chloe likes people watching and relaxing. In short, these friends are often busy doing nothing. With this in mind, it might seem puzzling that their favuorite quote is: “The secret to getting ahead is getting started.” * But they will get started, eventually. They just want to chill for a bit, and share a pot of their favorite tea - white tea with cherry flavours and cornflowers. It has just enough green tea mixed in to help them stay alert without interfering with their sleep.

*Quote attributed to Agatha Christie

Perhaps you woke up too late, missed the train, spilled coffee all over your laptop, posted an awkward status when trying to send a private message, activated the office alarm by mistake and forgot your in-laws are coming for dinner? Or something like that. You don’t need more stress in your life right now. What you need is to keep calm and see Mr Bloom. He has a relaxing effect on everyone.

You can try but you won’t succeed in rushing him. He believes in one thing and one thing only: Between point A and point B there’s always point Tea. Listen to Mr Bloom and don’t mess with your sleep. Kick off your shoes and have a cup of merry rooibos in the sun. Things will work out for the better and everything will feel different in the morning.

Speech development in children typically begins around 6 months with “da-da-da” before evolving into “mama” and “dadda” by the end of 12 months. Around 18 months, babies can usually say several simple words like “cookie, “bye bye” and “milk”. Daring Dorothy had a somewhat different linguistic learning curve. Her first word - at 6 months - was a firm “tea”, quickly followed by “please” and “now”.

Her first complete sentence? “Please get me a cup of fruity black tea with pineapple, peach and liquorice root, with a scone on the side”. It might sound like a gutsy demand for a toddler. But it’s never too early to ask for what you really want.

Black tea with pineapple, peach & liqorice root.

Earnest likes to daydream about traveling in time. That he could send a message by messenger pigeon. Take a horse down to the pub. He wishes that he could visit Atlantis and the legendary library of Alexandria. Earnest laments the disappearance of the dodo and the Caspian Tiger. He’s sad that the art of the letter went out with the birth of the e-mail.

He wonders what the first human songs sounded like. When the grief of all things lost to history comes over him, Earnest reaches for a pot of classic black tea flavored with bergamot oil, the kind of tea that bears his name. He’s thankful some things stay the same.
